Guru Purab, also known as Guru Nanak Jayanti, celebrates the birth of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, and is one of the most important festivals for Sikhs. The day is observed with prayers, devotional singing, Nagar Kirtan processions, and the reading of the Guru Granth Sahib in gurdwaras, which are beautifully decorated for the occasion. Devotees also organize Langar (community meals) to promote equality and selfless service, reflecting Guru Nanak’s teachings of unity, compassion, and humanity.
